Spanning 70 years, Ralph Steadman’s career has included collaborations with Gonzo journalist, Hunter S Thompson on projects such as Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and The Curse of Lono, Will Self on Psychogeography and Ceri Levy on The Gonzovation Trilogy.
He has written and illustrated books such as I, Leonardo and The Big I Am. His versions of literary classics such as Alice in Wonderland and Animal Farm have won prizes and plaudits. He has been using his art to lambast and reveal the duplicity of politicians and public figures since the 1960’s from Richard Nixon to Donald Trump and the Royal Family. Global brands such as Nike, Vans and Supreme have used his artwork on product ranges from t-shirts to skateboards.
In recent years his artworks have appeared in exhibitions from London, to Bologna, to Tokyo, and the phenomenally successful Ralph Steadman:A Retrospective exhibition is currently being reworked and redesigned to hit the road in the USA from 2024.
Ralph Steadman is a maverick, a touchstone for his times and a true, Welsh gentleman.
